Israeli Army Mutiny on Lebanese Border About 20 Israeli soldiers posted along the volatile border with Lebanon staged a one-day mutiny and forced commanding officers to chase after them in public, military sources said Monday. The soldiers from an artillery battalion of the Golani Brigade which guards positions overlooking Hizbullah bastions went absent without leave on Sunday after a row over privileges.
Commanding officers were forced to chase through the streets of the northern border town of Kiryat Shmona to bring back the soldiers.
The mutiny was staged in solidarity with six soldiers after infantrymen had their privileges suspended.
The Israeli army is investigating the incident.(AFP)
