Members of the Constitutional Council took the oath of office at Baabda palace on Friday and President Michel Suleiman stressed that the council should be neutral.
The council is the only authority assigned by the constitution to look into election contestation cases.
Suleiman also said that June 8, the day after the parliamentary elections, marks "the beginning of institutional reform."
The president stressed that every Lebanese carries the responsibility of the reform process.
Last week, cabinet approved the remaining five members of the Constitutional Council after bickering between opposition and majority ministers threatened to render the council obsolete.
